Usage Note 55608: How to create a separate log file for SAS® Visual Scenario Designer

All of the logs that are related to SAS Visual Scenario Designer reside in the server.log file in the SASServer7 web-application-server directory.

If you want to create a separate log file for SAS Visual Scenario Designer, then follow these steps:

  1. Stop the SASServer7 web application server.
  2. Click the Downloads tab in this note, and save the SASVisualScenarioDesigner-log4j.xml file to CONFIG_LEV1/Levn/Web/Common/LogConfig.
  3. Back up your current SAS Visual Scenario Designer web.xml file from CONFIG_LEV1/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer7/sas_webapps/sas.visualscenariodesigner.war/WEB-INF.
  4. Replace your existing SAS Visual Scenario Designer web.xml file with the web.xml file from the Downloads tab in this note.
  5. Start the SASServer7 web application servers.

After following the steps, SAS Visual Scenario Designer log files are stored in the directory CONFIG_LEV1/Web/Logs/SASServer7.
